  1. Hello people.

A couple of you may already know about this *cough* starship. But anyways there is a contest on Ziddio.com right now for the WWE's biggest fan. My friend decided to enter the contest when he found out and needed someone to film it, Guess who he came too :D. The contest is going to be judged by WWE Executives 15 videos will be selected for the finals 10 from video ratings and 5 from the actual judges. Then after that it is filtered down to 3. First place is 25,000 Dollars and an all expenses paid trip to SummerSlam (A large WWE event). And the prices go down from there.

It would mean alot to me if you guys watch it and if you feel like rating it, rate what you think it deserves.

Here is the link to the video: http://www.ziddio.com/oneVideo.zd?dispatch=fetch&artifactId=27127

NOTE: You have to make an account and login to view the video due to a few profanities in the movie, It only takes about a minute and then your all set.

Video Description: When making this video we wanted to capture the feel of WWE's cinematic presentation when Vince McMahon got his head shaved at WrestleMania 23 as well as his frustration after the event.

  3. Has anyone on TMN attempted this?

Just wondering and need some feedback, Wont be anything major, Just some homegrown talent, mainly some music videos ect of a few unsigned mates bands.

    • What is the best compression method to use - and retain quality
    • What are the best stream systems around - Nullsoft seems best suited - But can you do overlays and everything with it?
    • Are there any licenses you need to do this, As I know there is the PPL ect for Online Radio if it isnt your content?
    • Does anyone actually use IPTV or Online TV Streams

Sorry if this post seems as if its asking too much, As im sure I could get some really great feedback from here.

Well, I dont know. You may be just better off making a youtube account, Video is alot harder to stream than audio. So you would have to buy a server to run it off of if you wanted more than 2 or 3 viewers.

  4. I use to get slow speeds like that also, then i called Embarq and got a new phone line put into the house and now i connect at 50Kbps all the time now.

  5. OK, the modem/router is connected to my PC with ethernet cable to the LAN Port

but my PC refuses to recognize it is attached , the supplied CD runs up and attempts to to install the software , part of the installation does a search for the

device , but comes back with "cannot be found " and aborts the loading of the software ,

I have checked through the bios , updated all the motherboard drivers (SIS 900,)

installed a new pci nic card , done a clean install of XP  :evil2:,

but the PC still refuses to recognize the speedtouch 585v6 modem router ,

but if I put it on any of my junker PC's it is recognized and runs well without a problem ,even the wireless part is working OK ,

yeah, tearing the hair out time is fast approaching

I dont think its supposed to recognize that, I think you have to have a wireless card or something to use the wireless, but if you are going hard wired it should work just fine with a few changes to some settings in the network options.

  6. Hello folks.....Im looking at this tv, and was wondering if any of you have it, and can give me advice on it...

    http://www.westinghousedigital.com/details.aspx?itemnum=125

I know Westinghouse is the top brand of the budget TV's and was wondering if any of you have it....

    Dlewis help?

I dont got the exact TV, But I got a 42 inch westinghouse and I love it, I like the HDMI and DVI ports for higher quality than RCA cables. The picture is great and we have not had any problems with it, However the sound "as expected" is weak in these tv's and I would recommend getting a surround sound system or a component system if you dont already have one.

Oh, if you do decide to get it, Most of the models have an option in the menu to turn the LED on the front panel off, I like option because the power LED was making me really ticked because its very bright.

Yeah so I visited BB today to look at this TV, and they only had the 47in version on display.  I was not impressed, but then again, there was no remote to adjust anything, and it looked like it either had a bad signal, or it was setup wrong.

More importantly though, Ive found that 42in is going to be too big for me.  I looked at 32in, and it seems a bit too small but will work, but 37in is going to be the sweet spot.  Now I'll be able to get a Samsung or pretty much whatever barnd I want for around the same price.

Now for my next question.  What about LG tv's.  They are priced good, and with me playing around with three or four models today, they seem to have the best picture (for my eyes).

Right now, im looking at this guy or its 37in counterpart, if I can find it for the right price.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8258912&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050006&id=1169857827582

The 5ms response time was definately a plus, and when I was looking at them in the store, I noticed other models, including the Sharp and the Samsung on each side of it, presented some motion blur, but not the LG.

Bestbuy tweaks the "cheaper" TV's to look bad so you will want to shell out extra cash for the more expensive brands. I found this out when we were looking for ours in the store, When we got it home all we had to do was adjust the settings and voila, perfect. Another thing, I dont think they have HD signals going to those TV's, Because HD here at my house looks a WHOLE lot better.
