My computer's running on Windows XP SP2 and my ISP is PLDT DSL (Philippines) with an average of more or less 512kbps.
Apparently, I'm only running at
Your connection is: 81 Kbps or 0.08 Mbps
You Downloaded at: 10 kB/s
You are running: 1 times faster than 56K and can Download 1 megabyte in 102.4 second(s)
Member Ident: CompID:19277445514559
Test Time:: 2006/07/25 - 12:20am
Test Browser and OS info: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1)
Test ID: IMK00AF5B (if this is a screenshot go to testmy.net to see if this is fake)
Diagnosis ^info^: May need help : running at only 14.36 % of your hosts average (pldt.net)
This was tested from a 97 kB file and took 9.734 seconds to complete
But my friend's result, with the same ISP and plan is
Your connection is: 4375 Kbps or 4.38 Mbps
You Downloaded at: 534 kB/s
You are running: 76 times faster than 56K and can Download 1 megabyte in 1.92 second(s)

Diagnosis ^info^: Awesome! 20% + : 675.71 % faster than the average for host (pldt.net)
This was tested from a 5983 kB file and took 11.203 seconds to complete
which just makes me so frustrated with my download speed
I tried using TCP Optimizer, but I'm not sure how to use it....
And the analyzers' results are:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TCP options string = 020405ac01010402
MTU = 1492
MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1452
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising your MTU value.
Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 15972
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 15972
RWIN seems to be set to a very small number. If you're on a broadband connection, consider using a larger value.
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of
255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63888 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):
Your TCP Window limits you to: 638.88 kbps (79.86 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your TCP Window limits you to: 255.552 kbps (31.944 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 57 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 11110000 (240)
Precedence (priority) = 111 (Network Control)
Delay = 1 (low delay)
Throughput = 0 (normal throughput)
Reliability = 0 (normal reliability)
Cost = 0 (normal cost)
Check bit = 0 (correct, 8th checking bit must be zero)
DiffServ (RFC 2474) = No valid DiffServ equivalent. See the TCP Optimizer documentation, or RFCs 2474, 2475, 2597, 2598, 2873.
