  1. To Use it on  your Firefox...

    1. Tools

    2. Options

    3. Advanced

    4. go to NETWORK TAB

    5. on CONNECTION click SETTINGS

    6. Select Manual Proxy Configuration

    7. HTTP PROXY use    127.0.0.1

    8. Set the Port to 9666

    9. TICK the "USE THIS PROXY SERVER FOR ALL PROTOCOLS"

    click OKAY to save

you can check your IP ADDRESS by going to google and typing IP ADDRESS it will give you several links that will point you to a site that can detect your IP address and if followed and done correctly you will notice that the IP address is actually masked or changed.. :) If you got more question don't hesitate to ask..

Same goes if you want to set up other Browsers.. since ULTRA SURF is designed for IE then you don't have to set IE manually since it will be automatically set once you run the software...

  2. TESTIMONY or FEEDBACK..

for the past several months that i've been using Ultra Surf Proxy i can say that it's actually the best..

its free and it is FAST...

other proxy servers tends to sell you something or has limitations.. but this one doesn't have limits or stupid tactics.. and its FREE..

this software or proxy server are used by people in CHINA where major sites are blocked.. this is used to bypass and change their IP address..

In Dubai some sites are blocked too..so i had my sister use this and she can now access all the site she wants...

it even has 3 servers for backup just in case the other one fails.. but it never fails though. hehe

    i love it.. :)

    what you think?

  3. nope nope nope..

but... if there are several computers connected to your router and at the same time are all downloading, then you can experience a slow down. so chill.. but if you are only referring to standard browsing then there's no reason to worry about.. :)

  4. Assuming that the ADMIN did actually set a limit on your STATIC IP address then i don't think it's possible to bypass...

since the configuration was done to the ACCESS point where you are connected.. for example a router...

All data needs to pass through the ROUTER... the idea of bypass is like skipping the access point and directly connect to the World Wide Web. Please be reminded that your computer when connected to the internet actually has 2 IP address..

one IP address for your LOCAL NETWORK (assigned by the router) and another one assigned by the ISP... it is possible that all the computer in that school uses ONE real IP address (assigned by ISP).

since the configuration for bandwidth limitation was done LOCALLY (set in the router) then there's nothing you can do to bypass since all your connection needs to pass through the router..

the router is the one who gets the IP address assigned by your ISP. while you are getting an IP that was provided by the router..

DATA  from your PC ---> ROUTER ---> WWW (yahoo.com)

    bypass:

Data from your PC  ---> Router ---> PROXY Server  -----> WWW (yahoo)

no matter what you will do there is only one way.. and that's through the router..

  5. yeah, i believe so.. I'm planning to send back the flat screen monitor and have it changed.. i got one tiny dead pixel on the upper right corner of the screen.. i can live with it, but the fact that it's brand new gives me the motivation to send it back and have it replaced. this morning i called the store where i bought it and they told me to expect a call tomorrow since the sales rep assigned to me in on leave.. :) aside from that.. i got no problems...

I'm playing Flight simulator 2004 right now... anybody played that game too? I got some several questions... hehe..

  6. i'm getting a pretty fast connection with my smartbro... i even have 2 computers connected to it..

and take note, im not using a router but instead im using a hub... so my internet connection is direct to the base...

one SM with 2 computers attached.. im using a hub.. what i did was changed the MAC address of my LAN card so it will be the same with the other one.
