  1. Are you sure it doesnt increase download speeds? Because when i had Dial-Up i would download something(it took seceral hours) It got to 50% and then always skipped to 100%, so it seemed that the accelerator cut down the download time. Broadband is much better now though

Yah. That was probably just your download manager calculating wrong or something. Dial-up can only go so fast, and there is not a program out there that can change that.

  2. Go ahead and beat em. I dare you! :knuppel2:

  3. Lag is not a problem with satellite but a fact.Sending a ping twice around the earth would be close to the lag of satellite and the distance involved so the shortest lag is a straight line as always. What happens is this is combined with other factors, poor aiming may be #1 but one must not forget internet traffic that nobody has control over. From one second to the next, different congestion every time, many factors apply to lag and speed variations.

Yes but Wildblue's lag is mostly because of a new traffic shaping they are using called DAMA. Like we are talking I went to bed with high 500 to low 600ms pings and woke up with 1100 to 3000+ pings. What he was pointing out is Hughesnet actually gets better pings than Wildblue.

  4. hmm, thats odd...u would think they would be nicer to get more customers. i like the rolling thing better, cuz u dont have to wait a month for it to get reset, just 31 days and then from there on its one day on, one day off.

Yah but it is harder to keep track of this way.:uglystupid2::tickedoff:
