I have a D-Link 604 wired router and I guess thats working as a hadrware firewall. SO I think I will disable Windows Firewall only if thats helps to boost the up/down speed a bit??

SO... does disabling xp firewall help to increase upload/download speed? what you guys think? yes/no?

Does turning OFF firewall in Xp sp2/server 2003 help to increase up/down speed????

Thank you SIr for the info. I really believed that 2003 server does boost up the up/down speed since its a server edition and it doesn't block ports like xp does??

I am 19 will be 20 on 22nd Aug.

Greetings All, I have a question regarding download/upload speed in Windows 2003 Server Edition. Many told me and also seen in some site forums that using 2003 server edition gives you the most/best/all of ur upload/download speed provided by ur isp's whereas Windows Xp reduces the speed. Poeple actually switched from windows xp to 2003 server and experienced much better speed. Now the question is, Is it true that 2003 server really DOES give better up/down speed than winXp? Please someone clear it out. Thanks.
