You have to be paying for the "Pipeline" service in order to connect to the Charter network in your area. If you aren't paying for it then you probably bought a modem with 'hacked' firmware or 'hacked' it yourself. Either way, that's pretty dishonest and you shouldn't do that. Just pay.

Charter upload is now 512 kbps. Download is 5 mbits. If you don't have it yet call for an upgrade. P.S. It's $10 more. They are just now rolling it out and some areas of MA have it along with St. Louis market.

My cousin works for Charter and he told me it was not possible to do this.

Thank you for your fast reply. I'll try these settings on my computer and if it makes a big difference I'll let you know how I make out. If it's not a very big difference I'll just let it be. Maybe I'll get a significant increase.

How are you guys managing to get over your caps? I have 3000/256 and I hardly ever get over my downloads...fastest test was 3028. Should I set some RWIN values or something. BTW I'm behind a wireless router 100% signal strength...I plugged directly to my Cable modem and skipped the router and my speedtest went slower. How odd LOL ...Anyway...thanks for any advice in advance!

I have Charter. I wouldn't mind the download I just wish the upload was better. I mean $42.95/month for 256 kilobits upload? Seems a bit steep to me. They are the only high speed available in my area and I don't want dialup. I guess any broadband is better than dialup.
