  1. That was kindof my thinking too...I asked Level 2 tech back in Jan when I had him on the phone about the difference between 6000 & 7000; he said wasn't much difference.  The installer that came out & checked my equipment last week said the same thing.  Think I'll stay with what I've got for now unless I decide to switch to WB.

  2. I checked to be sure & was right; the Guest acct was already turned off.  Got another question...you said you used to use PC-Cillin...what do you use now?  I'm getting a little leary of the program.  I've done a couple online scans for viruses along with PC-Cillin.  Symantec didn't find anything.  Went to Bit Defender & it found a backdoor trojan called Trojan.Click.337 & removed it.  Just wondered what program you use.  I've also looked at Zone Alarm too.

  3. Mine is the only User Acct on the computer.  This has truly got me baffled.  I had someone to suggest to me to let the computer boot off the XP Pro CD and try to do a repair.  Would that get rid of all the updates the have been downloaded since installation or would it just attempt to repair any problems?

I just recently installed the new PC-cillin 2006 Security Suite.  I didn't have the problem till after installation.  The first one came the day after installation.  I'm beginning to think I may need a different program.

  4. Over the last couple weeks I've had a problem to happen twice to me when logging on to Windows XP Pro.  When I type in my password it rejects it. After several attempts it lets me log onto windows but my User Acct is missing.  I can go back to a previous restore point & things are ok.  About a week or so after the 1st time it did it again.  I rebooted the computer & it took me into windows but again, my User Acct was missing.  I went back to restore point again & all was well.  What is causing this??  I've run virus scans; I've run spyware scans with nothing being found.  Is this virus related or program related or something I'm just doing wrong??

    Has anyone got any help???

  5. Over the last couple of weeks I've had the same problem twice.  I'm running Windows XP Pro w/SP2. When I reboot my computer & come to my logon screen; I type my logon password but it says it's the wrong password; after several attempts or rebooting again it opens in windows but all my personal stuff is gone.  My account is no longer on the computer.  What I've had to do then is to go back to a restore point & restore my computer to the previous day or so.  Then everything is back to normal.

What is causing this problem???  :?::?:  It has happened twice now & is very frustrating.  I'm running virus protection & firewall that are up to date.  Is this a Windows problem or is it a virus of some type?  Thanks for any help!!!

  6. After nearly two months of slow speeds; going thru all the channels of support; talking to level 3 & finally placed in engineering hands I was contacted by a local installer who is coming out in a couple days sent by Dway (billed to Dway) to check out my problem.  My speeds for over a month were good in the morning but dial up speeds at nite.  Last couple weeks they've been somewhat better.

With these guys coming out they are going to check out my system & equipment.  I'm presently on Satmex 5 at 117 W 970 MHz.  If I have the option of a repoint my question is which a better sat to be pointed to?  I don't want to be repointed to more problems.

    Any help is appreciated.  ;)

  7. I had trouble once before & contacted billing & they gave me a credit for one month.  I about ready to call them again since my problem too has gone on for nearly a month now.  I'm not holding my breathe though about things improving much.

Also the problem I had before ended up getting me switched to a different sat.  That's when they put me on Satmex5 telling me it was much less crowded; well, maybe before they oversold on that one too.

  8. Thanks!  I bypassed my router but it didn't change the test.

Once I download Cablenut do I just open that file in it?  I'm going to have to get off the computer shortly.  I'll download the program & if you could tell me what to do after that; I'll check the board & follow your instructions to give it a try.  Thanks for all your help.
