Get an external antenna. My speeds jumped from boarderline 800k-900k to over 2M with an external antenna. We run the entire house off a Verizion card. If you are getting 160K, you are 1x, not EVDO. Remove your card from your computer, reboot your computer and try it all again. But you need an external antenna if you want great speeds.
