WoW ! A free piece of software won't update for a day because a server problem and your going to dump it.  High expectations or much better luck with Freeware than I've had.  I've tried most of the Pay and Free AVs progs and I keep coming back to AVG. YMMV

well no mine has been screwing up off and on since about .......i think like a week ago then it stopped and now it has started again along with yours. and everyone elses in this thread

well mine a box pops up saying priority update(never done that before it just usually updates without prob.) and so i click update and it says closing connection! then it says that it has timed out before it could update...who is with me saying we need either better service or at least i am gonna try to get a different anti virus like avast or something

yeah yesterday it said there was a priority update on mine and finally after screwing around with it i got it to update....and today it said that there weren't any updates and there is basically always one a day at least....then my outlook express started screwing up today...but i fixed that but yeah my avg is acting up too...i have no clue why... mine has never done this before

this is probly a dumb question that i should know the answer to but anyways......can i prgram my computer keyboard so that if i push for example F8...it would open a program so i don't have to find it in my desktop or my start menu......just curious is there a way.?????

paladin : I checked out winpatrol its probably good but I already have an antivirus & anti spyware programs. .But if you haven't seen the Red Green Show .You probably could chek out a vhs at your library or rent it at the video store.Very funny I'll see if I can find a link .

i knew someone would have seen the show here at testmy besides me...its not a new show or anything either but yeah go check it out.....and i agree i read about winpatrol and don't think i will get it...it looks fine i just have so many other programs on my pc that i think  i am safe for at least a while longer......

i already got those two programs but yeah i ran adaware se and it found some junk that i got rid of then i ran spybot and it got rid of the thing so yeah spybot got rid of it for me

i tried removing it from add remove programs list and it said are you sure you want to remove this ...like most programs do and then i clicked yes and the box just dissapeared and my harddrive light just shut off like it didn't do anything and then i checked my folders and it was still there with all the folders and junk...so i went back to add remove programs and it was still there...did it like 3 times and it's still there how do i get rid of it now????? any ideas for me plz

when ever i start up my pc it says internet optimizer is a virus......i didn't even install an internet optimizer except for cable nut and this "optimizer"thing is in my add/remove programs list...it said created june 8  and i never installed it....does anyone else have this because i already tryed to uninstall it but it wouldn't uninstall it would say it did but would still be thre and its' folders whould still be there too.  uuuuhhhhhhhhhhh  HELP : : :!:

has anyone else heard of thunderbird email...or is using it...i thought i might try it out. its made by the same people who made firefox so i just figured it would be a good email....what do you think.

this site is what i use to test my connection speed and i was getting kinda bored(normal for me) and i went to cnet and a few other test pages like toast i think it's called and they all said like i was running 800 dl in ff and 1200 dl  in ie then i went here (this site is way more accurate) i got 1600 dl. i know test my is right but why is the results from other sites so low... is it because i am so far away from the test provider that i can't get accurate results...

I was wondering if you could make like a Hardware/Software Reviews topic where people can make reviews of products or software that they have used.  I know the web is full of them, but im sure many will agree that reviews from CNET just suck sometimes b/c half the time the reviewers dont know what the heck they're talking about.  I was inspired to 'request' this from the What Anti-Virus Program are you running now? (Extreme Poll).  Say users of those antivirus's made reviews, listed the pros/cons/problems with the software and whatnot.  That would be pretty useful, wouldnt it?

Just a thought 

i like that idea myself...it would be helpful to alot of people who want to either change their antivirus or something like that....great idea i think...
