  2. hi ppl just like to join in as i was also having this same problem but i like to play games not download but my download speeds was crap and my ping to my isp was stupid. I know im not with the same ISP as you guys or even in the same contre but i know what its like and its completly there fult for putting too many customers on one line/server and there should be some type of law because we all should get the chance to play on-line games or download from the web at a speed and quality better than dial-up.

  11. Hi, Iv been having this trubble for some time, after giving up with getting my ISP to fix it or even help at all. Thay keep saying theres nothing wrong with there network. Maybe thats true if the cable modem's signal and cable in the street is not classed as part of the network thats if it it whats wrong with it. Iv tryed lots of difrent way of setting up my network at home but still no luck. I even bilt a new comp for a frend and used that(with-out the router) and did a ping -t test on my first hop. Also did a test on a site some time ago now but it did the test starting from there end(meaning the last hop would be my router and not the site) and sed all passed but my first hop and it was a us site and im in the uk. I use all the tools shown on your site and found them realy usefull, my speeds are spot on witch is wird as is my very low ping. I could understand if i was getting a bad ping to my ISP(by the way there 5min walk up the road!) but my ping to them is with in 6-10 witch is good right? but im getting timed-out all the time and i like to play online game's. Please can somone help or tell me if i should giv up and move on to adsl?

  14. is it me or my isp? Should i just change isp's, i get the best low ping out there but packet-loss, maybe its because its so low that I'm hitting all the bumps? Iv just got a new router and its helped a bit but still doing it Any ideas?
  15. Thank you Packet-loss IN 2-4 all the time. Packet-loss out 4-8 sometimes The packet-loss IN seems to be constant. Theres only one server i don't get this and its hosted buy my ISP. This is about all i can think of.
  16. Hi all, I'm having trouble with playing on-line games, the one i play the most is UT2004. My ping could be as low as 8ms(4am) and 20ms day time but still getting packet-loss. I love playing on-line games and that bit of loss i can really see or not. The hole game would hang for just a second but long enough to die in a instaGib game. I don't know what it could be and its doing it all the time. I got all windows updates (xp home), all hardware is up to date with drivers. just got a new router and opened all router needed hum. Ad-aware, spybot and avg scanned. Connection 1MB/1MB My isp was having problems but say thy have fixed them witch i can see with my low ping. Would it be OK to post some tracert and ping -t test on here for help understanding them
  17. Hi, Just got a new router and i cant seem to host games, people cant join from out-side the LAN network. Iv trued opening the ports but still nothing. I can open ports for emule and that works but is game server the same thing? Because my router has a tripper port setting but I'm not to sure what ports to use lol. thanks:)
