hey rev. when you go to IE and go under internet options there is a button that says settings under temp files. and you click on it, then it says check for new versions of stored pages what does it say, is it on automatically, never, every visit to the page etc.. im saying this cause this used to give me a problem to. about the samething.

ok i modified these settings, and i think i finally got the ball rolling, what i think is that these settings are more steady, i think, but are more efficient, i think, give me feedback on what u think thanks.

hey i just got a pretty good upload speed, for the first time ever i got a speed of 11 kb/s im serious i never got anything like it,

of vaburen dont panic, i sorta fixed my settings myself i set the rwin to 512460 and it made my download back to were there suppose to be. the send window is 16384, tcp window size is at 64240, 1323opts is off maxdupacks is at 3, and the ttl is at 64, do i put it back to 128, or do i leave it like that?? cause i remember back in the day when i got some good download speeds with 128 ttl, but idk whatever here are my download speeds so far, my goal is to maintain 130kb/s but i always get like 129 and thats it.

hey rev u use the 1202 mhz frequency, u should use the 1070mhz they are mainly the same thing but i have tried the one u use and more ppl use that so u have more delays, use the one i use and u'll see a difference.

yes i did follow your instructions, when it formats the c: drive doing this is like reinstalling win xp, or do i still have to use the win xp cd and do it from there. or is it easier formatting or what is better, whats the diff between the two???

ok van i give up, my settings i guess were temporary, my speeds keep droping, wat do u suggest, and have in mind that my computer isn't a pentium 4 its a pentium 1 and it has1.69ghz and 348 mb of ram, but my laptop is a pentium 4, and what about my router do i have to fix that 2 or what?? anywayz help me please, and the screenshot is a tcp/ip analyzer i took, it says the mtu is 1460 but i check my registry and it says 1500, do u know why it says that???

but its just burst, i would recommend you to wait rev. when ur out of there contract and bluff them(direcway) to cancel ur account, cause they know if u cancel now they can charge u like 300 bucks, but when ur out of the contract they are gonna have to do something. u feeling me rev. laterz

yea i keep lowering the window send and i always get something different, it goes down then goes up then does down, so im gonna stick with these settings for now, and tomorrow i will see if i keep getting these speeds

well vanburen, i think the dw4000 settings worked good for me, cause the dw6000 settings u just gave me, there almost the same thing but the dw4000 settings give me that extra boost, and thats mainly what i like cause i know my internet isn't fast but i aleast want to make it seem fast u feeling me. but like ppl have said before just give it a day or so with the settings to see what my tru conection speed is right?

like u can see my internet connections is wierd, i think cause it starts all slow then it starts hitting the caps, at least i think but those settings i think are begginning to kick in, i think its because it just stopped raining or something, cause it was raining hard right now.

hey thanx vanburen, it did work a lot like when i go to some sites, but when i do the download tests it pauses a lot, like it starts all fast then it pauses, then it goes fast then it pauses, i dnk if its normal but it make the download connection a bit slower,
p.s. i have a DW6000

ok i will tweak up my comp for more download speed, but just to check up, on the tcpwindow size i calculate it by the mss right, but how do i figure out what my mss is, cause right now my tcp is at approx 50000 or something like that. is that good or should i lift it u to 6 or lower it to 4,
or something like that, the upload speed went back to normal,(i mean slow) bu the download speeds are a bit better,
