  1. I just recently bought...

    Motherboard : PT88AS (MachSpeed)

    CPU : Celeron D 2.93GHz

    RAM : Viking DDR PC3200 256MBs (2 sticks)

And a new case that supports the ATX formfactor and everything.

After I got done putting everything and going to press the power butotn, it wouldn't turn on! Not even the system fan went, it was almost like it was fried, but I know I took the necessary precautions before I installed it...

I grounded myself, Made sure the RAM was locked in place thoroughly, made sure the CPU was seated right... The power cord is in. (Not sure if I need the 12V with a Celeron D though.)

On button is pressed of course, and the LED wires SHOULD be in.

The only thing I can think of is the Power BTN or Power SW cord is not in the right holes, but I tried every combination. I read the manual, and it looks like it's seated properlly.

The only thing weird is the Reset SW from the case is missing a pin that the motherboard calls for, and so does the power SW.

wtf is going on here? D:

  2. Check out TuneUp 2006, it's got everything on it, including everything raptor said, all in one package.

Use Diskeeper for defragging, it's the apsolute best.

Use Firefox or Opera as a web browser, and if you use Firefox make sure to find FireTune.

See if your computer is compatible with Intel Application Accelerator, usually it isn't but this will give you a major increase on an intel based computer with out overclocking, pretty much allowed me to sweep the floor with alot of AMD's stuff, even though I still plan to upgrade to AMD. :P

See if you can find a few registry tweaks, such as UnloadDLL etc.

You can find any of these by simly searching the key words, such as diskeeper, etc on google.

    enjoy  :)

  3. A 54G will help, it'll give you 54MB to deal with instead of wireless-B's 11MB, but that'll only fix another problem when you get this one stamped out.

Or, because you have gone over the limit in speed that they router can handle, maybe it's going unstable?

See if you can update your firmware.

  4. Got any firewalls?

If you have zonealarm, I can see this happening.

Also, when did you upgrade your connection? Like 2 to 3 days after you update they usually screw up and this happens. 786 is their lowest package and with overhead, it looks like you have it.

Believe me, I called them when I upgraded to 3.0MB and they verified it to be right, but testmy said that I had a 768 connection as well, it took a while but they fixed it.

They are always on edge with Database problems.

    I really think it's all Verizon's doing.

  5. uh, update...

I'm using windows 98SE again because XP can't work with the sound driver.

The problem is this, I'm missing a PnP driver that automatically sets up the sound driver in the right way, because that one driver file has four drivers in one.

Right now, I ask if anyone still has a reinstall disk for a 600X 2645-4EU, thank you. (hopeful)

  6. You can't remove sp2 if it came with the os.

And you're sooo right, sp2 is for the link clickers, I had to fix my cousin's computer and alls I did was install sp2 and it all was fixed, go figure.

btw, ignorance is the majority of our people, so you know why sp2 is there.
