I thought all a Web Accelerator was was something that compressed the data on a webpage more than normal so it got to you faster. That wouldn't actually make anything faster, just seem that way.

SALUTE to the veterans and to those currently serving the USA

count 'em: 58 extensions!
Holy socks that's a lot of extensions. But if you use them all, I'm glad you've got them all.

well, sp3 should be coming out next year i believe, because i read that they will release sp3 sometime before the release of longhorn to make sure people dont lose interest in xp.
I'm not sure I could lose interest in xp.

Just one more for the moment are any of the extensions on FireFoxes site any good, and witch ones?
:?
I've tired out many of the extensions on their site, but, in time, figured that I didn't really use any of them, so I got rid of them. But that isn't to say that you may not like, and use often, some of them. One of them I used was one that tested my bandwidth...Def. don't need that one anymore

Thanks for the welcome, just.

That's just crazy. But I bet he is real happy now! :haha:

I've found that if you are burning separate multiple files to a disc(like backing up something), faster(16x for me)is ok, because it doesn't mess up the quality much. But when burning an actual DVD or something you really want to be the best possible quality, burn it slower. For me, I buy 8x or 16x when they are on sale, because otherwise they can be quite expensive, but I figure that you don't really ever need something sooooo fast that you have to burn fast fast fast, it's just fun to be able to. My opinion is to get the 8x's but what do I know? Not much.
for me, I got a 8x burner, as most people do, and I always use the +r's, because they ALWAYS play in any of my dvd players. the -r's don't at times.
That's true too. Isn't the only difference, other than, it seems, compatibility, like 5 extra MB on the -R's?

My speeds have always been consistent here at testmy.net. Actually, especially in the near past.

I have had that same Sony one for a few months. Can't complain. Good price too, from Newegg.com. Burns quality and quick.

I went back and read a lot of the older articles listed in the News Section. It was quite informative and I'm sure, in the future, I'll check it often, duh, for more news.

It seems to me that every once in a while (every three years?) one of my computers seems to get pissed and do something like this. The solution I've found to work the best, although even though my problem seem to be like yours, they may not be, is to turn off the computer, unplug it and such, then remove your CMOS battery, let it sit for a few minutes, probably ten, then replace it and go into your bios. Reset the clock and such and all that good stuff and then try to boot windows. Recently this same sort of problem (the computer would start but wouldn't boot and just then restart, and also getting weird hard drive noises) happened to a friend's computer and the above solution fixed the problem, although it took a while to find the damn battrey because it was hiding. Also, those batteries, over time, seem to just plain wear out, which, in turn, could create some problems.
