  1. While I was in high school, we had some pretty strange things happen. There was once a "race riot" on the second floor, which I was lucky enough to witness, but smart enough to stay out of. Basically, some dipshit said some racial bad words and pissed off a lot of people who decided it was as good a time as any to try and beat up everyone. Needless to say, it ruled. Another time, there was a gas leak in the science section of our school, so we got to go home, and this was in December, on a Friday, right after 4 days off school for all the snow we were getting. We couldn't even take finals that year because that week was the last week in the semester; we had to take them the first few days after Christmas break. Oh yeah, another time, some asshole brought a mother stuffing tear gas canister to school and let it off in the lunch room during lunch. And our lunch room was a horrible place to be at anytime. One door in, and I mean one door, not a double door and not an open hallway, this door was closed, and one door out. Also, the ceiling was open up to the first floor, lunch room was on the bottom floor, and so if anyone wanted, they could've locked those doors and just popped us off one by one with a gun. But anyway, that guy let that gas go and made a ton of people sick, and one girl even had a miscarriage, due to the inhalation of the gas. He went to jail real good, luckily, because he was eighteen already. We never had a bomb threat though, but we sure had a lot of threats about people planning on bringing guns to school and shooting us all, which, like I said, would have been damn easy. My school even had a list of kids that potentially could break into the computer system and changes grades and all that crap. My name was, proudly, on that list. Apparently someone had done it a couple years before and they didn
  2. I've got a pair of Maxwell NC-11's. You can use both, normal and noise cancelling. I think they were about 35 dollars and seem to work very very well. I don't generally use the noise cancelling part of them, because it doesn't seem like I need it that much when just listening to music, but when I fly, which is increasingly often, I turn the noise cancelling on without listening to any music and can't hear a damn thing (those airplane engines are so loud when you are trying to sleep). Overall, I really like mine and they were pretty cheap and they block out airplan engine noise, so it's all good.
  3. That happened with me and Gunbound, Gunbound would comr up and go right back down. It was the Folding program that was making everything funny.
  4. I've got a WD 250 GB and a WD 80 GB in my 'puter. The 80 is down around 15, it's filled with TV Shows, and the bigger one is down around 112 now, basically because I've got around 93 GB of music on it. Other than that, everything, like movies, is on dvd's now. Happy Thanksgiving!.
  5. I rarely ever get anything from those public torrent search sites, they don't have strict rules, so people are fast to leave a torrent after they've finished. Private trackers are the way to go.
  6. I would like to know this to, even though I don't think it will be anytime soon. SBC has had fiber optic laid down all the major streets in my city (Raytown, MO) for about five years now, ever since we had most of the streets and such redone. On all of the poles behind the houses, also, are the little signs that say "Careful when digging Fiber Optic Wires burdied here, call this number etc. etc. So, if and when they do decide to go ahead with Lightspeed, I think it would probably be quick to come here, maybe, due to the fact that fiber has already been laid. Dunno though.

  9. I know. Both of these harddrives were put into external boxes, and could easily be used for a laptop, if wanted.
  10. 2TB of Harddrive space isn't really that difficult to have. 4 500GB harddrives. I bought two from newegg for about 350 dollars a piece; so you see, I'm halfway there!
  11. The mother in law is alright and has finally been able to call us and tell us that she and the pets are all ok. Her house isn't there anymore, but atleast she is ok, so no one can be too sad. She lived uptown, really no where near the 9th ward or Canal Street/The French Quartet. She got to Texas and is staying with friends until she moves in with her sister, since there will be no going home, ever, for her.
  12. This is why I use public transportation, no matter what country I'm in.
  13. Comcast doesn't advertize 1Mbps upload. The highest they give is 768Kbps if you have the 8Mb(or 6Mb, if still not upgraded) plan.
  14. My mother in law lives in New Orleans (Uptown). Apparently, they aren't letting anyone back inside the city until, at the earliest, friday. (If it will ever be possible to get in by then, who knows) To tell the truth, I wouldn't mind if her house was blown away or flooded; I don't much like the woman. Anyway, hopefully everyone else is okay. The mother in law was one of those people who never leave just because of a "little hurricane." I was down there earlier this summer when the last "big" hurricane was threatening New Orleans, and she planted us down for the duration. Luckily, it didn't hit us. I've decided that if this hurricane didn't kill her, nothing will. But this is just mother in law - son in law hatred; I don't really want anything to happen to her (or do I)?
  15. I wasn't in country at the time, I was in London, but I remember I was drinking coffee when it came on the news.
  16. 19 here. Although, I'm young at heart :haha:
  17. Whoa. That last photo of the plane right above all those people is just crazy.

When I test with the 12 MB test I get around 7.1. I wonder if the upgrade has come through here or just a spike, although I've tested like this (the 7.1 anyway) for a couple of days.
  19. Sort of a crappy upgrade...So, I, who already pay for the 6 down, will automatically get the 8 down, yes?
