  1. Read that, makes me do this . Hopefully, Comcast will upgrade speeds, as it looks like they could very easily (by what the article said), soon, like alot of the other cable service providers.
  2. Clubs are inherently dumb because they are, in fact, clubs, which automatically means some people can't be in them. The ones that are in a certain club generally seem mean because, perhaps, they think highly of themselves for being in it. I don't think I've ever been in a "club," definitely not one at college, either because I don't want to be or because no one would let me in one. The latter probably makes more sense... :haha:
  3. Why do people post these results? Wait, I mean, I think he's really cool.
  4. There are three here right now (2 desktops and my laptop) another will be coming when my fiancee comes home from school for the summer (laptop).
  5. I'd like to try your fle. Eventhough I'm on comcast.
  6. What is the write speed of your DVD burner? But I wouldn't think any relatively new burner would ever take that long to burn something. edit////////// Funnily enough, I was burning a dvd while writing my comment and at 16x it took about 6 to 7 minutes for a full (around 4.3 gigs) disc. I've got a P4 2.8 with 1 gig of ram.
  7. I live in Raytown (two seconds from Kansas City, MO) and I always get right around my advertised speeds throughout the day. I'm happy with Comcast all of the time. :::.. 8. The only problem with that is that those speeds doubled wouldn't be much better than a lot of people's normal speeds. 10/768 to my 6/768 But you sure can't beat double the speed for the price of one.
  9. Ha, I love my Commodore 64. I didn't have it back in the day, as I either wasn't alive or just too young. But I think I got it in the mid 90's for fun and to say I had one. I take it out every once in a while to see that it still works.
  10. Yea, when I upgraded, all I had to do was power-cycle my modem and router, then I immediately came here and saw the difference for myself, instead of just believing the guy on the phone that my speeds had been increased. ;)
  11. I think I'll probably stay with comcast if they upgrade their speeds again soon, like some of the other cable companies around. But I'm stupid.
  12. I'd say 1 gig is the best amount of ram, less isn't enough and more, well, let's just say it's a waste; that is, unless you are a graphic designer or film editor, which I happen to be, I just deal with only having 1 gig because I'm poor. So, since I'm too poor to buy more because my job requires it, I'll say 1 gig is tops. edit/// also I would suggest getting two sticks of 512 opposed to 1 stick of a gig. Mainly because the two 512's should be cheaper than the 1 gig, and in my experience, the 2 sticks of 512 will work better than the 1 of a gig.
  13. Could be that all the seeders have too many peers to deal with and the swarm's overall speed is just really low. It happens with me and I have cable, it just all depends on who is sharing and how much. Also, you usually want to keep you upload at about 80 percent of your maximum advertised download speed, otherwise, if you are uploading at full force, your download will be even slower. Because when you download, you also have to upload the acknowledgment that you've successfully gotten a certain packet from someone, so if you are uploading at the max, you're computer can't send these acknowledgments, so, in turn, you download slower.
  14. I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about the douche you were talking about.
  15. Truth. Why do you care so much anyway? Don't hate someone and make a big deal out of nothing just because you can. You will just look more and more stupid in the Mods' eyes and you'll never get what you want; I don't even know what that is anyway.
