Mine is disabled too. Is your relative having any problems with their 6000 modem?
-
What modem do you have? 4000?
-
I thought you said tweaks were useless.
I was being sarcastic.
-
Should've gotten HughesNet instead.

Don't forget that a satelite signal has to travel 22,??? miles up into the sky and back, so that is where part of the lag comes from. And you know they will have some pretty decent excuses for you. Good luck with it.
Everyone with Wildblue has been having serious lag issues since the firmware update in November. So, I don't think he's getting the 700ms pings and complaining.

What kind did you get?
I have a XPS 140 with a 9cell battery, get about 5.5-6hrs of use. For me screen brightness plays a big factor, the power scheme settings can change things quite a bit. If you read c-net ratings much some laptops just dont get much time on batteries...some around 2.5 hours is max.
Mine gets an hour...........

but hopefully for you and I Spaceway 3 will fix our problems.
Don't get your hopes up..

Bird Fan, I have a HN7000s on the pro+ plan. What kind of tweaks are you using?
I have SatSpeed 2.3. Don't worry about installing tweaks, they don't do anything for self-hosted modems.
-
wow, alot of people have direcway
Well, yeah. A lot of people are sick of dial-up and buy HughesNet's little scheme. Some people are happy with it, some aren't. I wouldn't mind dial-up if we had two lines here so I didn't have to get off every time we needed to use the phone. The faster ping would be nice too.

Merry Christmas Testmy!
About 20 minutes to go here.
-
Anyone tried this?
Is it safe?
-
Yeah, first of all, don't shut off your modem at night unless you need to save the power. Second of all, you should probably try force ranging, sometimes that will clear up transmission errors.
-
Haha, you won't be happy with HughesNet for long.
-
Not bad this morning.
Satellite signal is at 52, as well.

Woah! How much you paying DirectWay?
I'm on the Pro plan so it's like $70 compared to $60 for the Home (unless things have changed).

Me too. I was worried.
