resopalrabotnick Posted January 3, 2006 CID Share Posted January 3, 2006 gaming over a sat link, unless you're talking chess or checkers here, is pretty much out of the question due to the pings being very long. 6-700 +
phreek000 Posted January 3, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 3, 2006 I figured gaming was a bust but is it worth it .......dl and ul speeds better?
dwells248 Posted January 4, 2006 CID Share Posted January 4, 2006 For me it was worth it. I saw pretty close to a 200k improvement in download and when my uploads were working properly they were around 200k. I'm stuck on the 128k rate code right now so the best I can do is around 80k up. A lot of people are seeing consistant 150k to 200k uploads. Like anything else with dway it's really a crap shoot as to whether or not you'll see improvement. If your uploads are really bad right now, it might be worth doing the upgrade. If your uploads are ok then your probably better off staying with what you have. 84TurboFour Posted January 14, 2006 CID Share Posted January 14, 2006 Yea really, its almost a rip off, I mean, If I was closer to the city by just a few miles I could get regular land line DSL for cheeper, and it would be a lot more stable, and in some ways faster then this. Bird Fan Posted January 15, 2006 CID Share Posted January 15, 2006 Thats what I'm asking...even if I get the "fastest package " would it be worth the trouble?.............I dout it but who knows???? Do you consider the business package the "fastest package"? I'm sure business users see some slowdown at night, but definately not as much as we're getting (but how many business' use Direcway at night? Isn't it mostly during the day?)
