FallowEarth Posted January 4, 2006 CID Share Posted January 4, 2006 What are your advertised speeds? Can you provide a traceroute: -start, run: cmd -tracert testmy.net

FallowEarth Posted January 4, 2006 CID Share Posted January 4, 2006 Trace looks good, and it looks like you are well over a 2Mbps download cap.
Doomsday Posted January 4, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 4, 2006 yeah.it's cable internet/service for northeast P.A. had to wait over a month to get an appointment, then a few months down the line i had problems with speed and random drops of signal.the lines outside were good then they came in to find my signal just from the wall to the cable modem{which is on the other side of the room} went from 5 dBmv to 0dBmv causing the modem to drop the signal and reset. FallowEarth Posted January 4, 2006 CID Share Posted January 4, 2006 Looks like they offer speeds up to 10Mbps [LINK]. I would definitely go with cablenut. Be sure to read the sticky [LINK] and you can check out our cablenut help guide here: VanBuren TestMy.net Cablenut settings.
Doomsday Posted January 4, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 4, 2006 i'll give it a go,i have backups on windows XP home stock TCP/IP settings.
FallowEarth Posted January 4, 2006 CID Share Posted January 4, 2006 If it is the cable with a 10M cap, try the file I have attached once you have the cablenut program downloaded. With the adjuster window open, open the .ccs file, click save to registry, reboot and retest.
Doomsday Posted January 4, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 4, 2006 no,it's not. they have packages{gold/silver and platinum}i think they go in that order or differant,i forgot what package i have.
FallowEarth Posted January 4, 2006 CID Share Posted January 4, 2006 I would call up your ISP to find out. It determines which tweak file would be best suited for your connection (plus it gives you a goal to shoot for).
Doomsday Posted January 5, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 5, 2006 i just found the paper that has listed what we have: we have the gold package which is 4mb and 384 upload.my dad wants to move-up to the plantium package which is 5mb and 512 upload cause that includes new channels that him and my mom would like to have like they use to have back in NYC. FallowEarth Posted January 5, 2006 CID Share Posted January 5, 2006 Perfect. Save the .ccs file I have attached to your desktop. Once you have cablenut downloaded and installed on you system, open the .ccs file, click save to registry, and reboot your PC.

FallowEarth Posted January 11, 2006 CID Share Posted January 11, 2006 You may have already covered these bases, but I have to ask: -got a firewall? -got any toolbars/extensions running in your browser? (what browser you got?) -scanned for spyware lately? -scanned for viruses lately?
