cappy Posted January 14, 2006 CID Share Posted January 14, 2006 Well, i just hooked up sbc yahoo dsl 1.5/384 on thursday. The speeds are were they should be, but when playing games like ut2004 or bf2 they always jump up and i get non stop lag. Havnt installed cablenut yet, will soon. :::.. FallowEarth Posted January 14, 2006 CID Share Posted January 14, 2006 Trace looks pretty good. I would suggest running the line packet loss test here: [LINK] Run this online malware scan (takes about 20-30 mins on avg): [LINK] Then get cablenut here: [LINK] Once cablenut is installed, download the file I have attached, open it, click save to registry in the adjuster window, and reboot your PC. Once you've done this, post back with the results of the packet loss test and a new speedtest.

FallowEarth Posted January 15, 2006 CID Share Posted January 15, 2006 Make sure you're firewalls and browser extensions are disabled when running a download speed test. Your line test looks good. Try this .ccs file with a larger MTU (download, open, "save to registry", reboot, retest).

FallowEarth Posted January 15, 2006 CID Share Posted January 15, 2006 Try running this online malware scan (it cleans em too): http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/ Then I would suggest downloading and running ccleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/ BTW, your pings and traces look really good. cappy Posted January 15, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 15, 2006 Still cant play bf2, get kicked from most servers for a ping over 160 with firewall off. Now it keeps jumping to 1023? could the isp have something to do with the port bf2 uses? going to run ccleaner
