MttFrog13 Posted January 15, 2006 CID Share Posted January 15, 2006 I think it's funny when some people get odd or cached results like this and think they are real. Try speakeasy.net speed test if you are still getting these funny results.
Sharky2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 15, 2006 Dumb*** number 1 meet Dumber*** number 2. Oh, I mean AMC11890 meet MttFrog13. Why do you 2 even reply to posts when you have nothing positive to write about. There is a way to state what you feel without aggression. I am out of here and don't need this infantile, degrading commentary from the comic factory. ...and forgive me AMC11890 if you were not trying to be a wise*** but re-read your post because it may have come out that way (...and I took it that way). Van Buren is a class act but you other guys have need some class. Good Night and be blessed.
Sharky2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 15, 2006 ...I apologize to all for my aggresive reply posts. I am having a rough week. I re-cleaned the cache properly and the results were significantly lower. Regardless, I think when we reply to any post, have a bit more consideration, be more polite, and act like you are speaking to someone with respect until they disrespect you. Even then.... cdf216 Posted January 15, 2006 CID Share Posted January 15, 2006 good thing you found out it was a "bug" in your download cache, from the results in the 13 - 14000 range I would have thought you were on a FIOS connection and your upload needed severe tweaking
FallowEarth Posted January 15, 2006 CID Share Posted January 15, 2006 I think Sharky2006 has a point. Learning that results you get are cached is quite deflating on its own, but when someone says it in a manner that is derogatory, it can be upsetting. If a member is posting cached results, chances are it is because they don't know it's cached. If you feel the need to bring it to their attention, I would suggest also providing something constructive, like a mirror they can try, or to clear their cache, etc. etc.

But I can sympathize. ON my first post about my 15/2 connection I had someone tell me it was cached. Luckily though showing them a result from the 20mb flat test proved my connection to be true. don't always jump to the assumption that it's cached. especially with providers like Verizon, RR etc. They all offer very high speed options. MttFrog13 Posted January 16, 2006 CID Share Posted January 16, 2006 but u have to admit, when he went back and cleared his cache, then came back and was like, "yay, the cache only slowed me down!" when the results were only cached anyway was funny. But i dont mean this to be rude or anything, it was funny.
FallowEarth Posted January 16, 2006 CID Share Posted January 16, 2006 I was not targetting anyone specifically, but speaking generally.
