Dark_Matter Posted January 17, 2006 CID Share Posted January 17, 2006 I am looking for a new notebook for home, and travel use. I already use my Inspiron 6000 for work. I posted some specs of a dell notebook here a few days ago, but decided against it. So i am still currently looking for the right notebook. I don't really use my notebooks for gaming or video editing so the best graphics card is not really needed. I would mainly just use it to manage my dedicated boxes via Putty, web surfing, and moderate music, and movie watching. Whatever it is i finally get i will set it up as a dual boot for windows XP, and Debian Linux. If anyone has some good deals or links on notebooks they want to share please do. I am trying to keep it at or around $1,000 dollars. Things it must have are: Internal wireless b/g support 512 megs/ram atleast 60 GB HD minimum 15 inch screen WinXP Pro DVD+RW drive 8x atleast The graphics card can be intergrated, but should have atleast 64 MB capacity. Not needing anything really fancy when i play games it's usually on a console anyway.

TheHalf Posted January 18, 2006 CID Share Posted January 18, 2006 There are a few places you can get a nice notebook if you 'Google' it, but just to add to the list, here's another link. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_attrib.php/page_id=13/adv=1/sortby=priceA TheHalf
