Adds multiple-input multiple-ouput (MIMO) and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) to 802.11 standard. Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/802.11n#802.11n Looks like a sweet deal, but we'll have to bump the 802.3 ethernet layer up to at least 1000BaseT/X. So we may not see it practically implemented for some time, as it would be quite costly to replace so many components. However, it may be practical for some campus MANs.
