phin Posted January 28, 2006 CID Share Posted January 28, 2006 ok first off my isp claims "High Speed DSL up to [512/128K] $45.95" and i do understand that they say "up to" but i seems when im at another persons home with dsl (from another provider) theirs is much faster. my downloads start in the 150k -200k range and then drop to the 50's and sometimes much lower 7k to 10k. do i have a problem or do i expect to much for my money? . Swimmer Posted January 28, 2006 CID Share Posted January 28, 2006 Damn dude.. for about $50 bucks a month you could have like 6000/380 cable connection.. If you can I would try and get out of your contract if you have one and switch providers.. BTW welcome to the forum phin!

Dark_Matter Posted January 28, 2006 CID Share Posted January 28, 2006 From what i've seen only people who get good satellite internet speeds are government angencies. If you are an average joe american don't hold your breath on a good satellite internet connection. If you are the CIA, FBI, IRS, or some other government agency then you will be happy with the speeds. I can almost promise you any federal agency DirecWay provides for gets steller speeds.
