dman58 Posted February 4, 2006 CID Share Posted February 4, 2006 Over the last couple of weeks I've had the same problem twice. I'm running Windows XP Pro w/SP2. When I reboot my computer & come to my logon screen; I type my logon password but it says it's the wrong password; after several attempts or rebooting again it opens in windows but all my personal stuff is gone. My account is no longer on the computer. What I've had to do then is to go back to a restore point & restore my computer to the previous day or so. Then everything is back to normal. What is causing this problem??? : It has happened twice now & is very frustrating. I'm running virus protection & firewall that are up to date. Is this a Windows problem or is it a virus of some type? Thanks for any help!!!

compuworm Posted February 4, 2006 CID Share Posted February 4, 2006 install the cd and let the computer boot off it. Then do a system repair? Its worth a try. I had a similar problem and this helped.
dman58 Posted February 4, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 4, 2006 Will doing that change anything on my computer or will it just attempt to repair the program? Also would it remove all the udates that have been added?
