Magellan Posted February 14, 2006 CID Share Posted February 14, 2006 There are many causes of radio frequency degradation and the most effective way to solve the problem is to simply change the routers operating channel. By default most routers are setup to operate on channel 6. First, go to your router security settings and secure your connection, no need to have others using your potential bandwidth. Second, change your routers operating channel. Experiment to see which one has the best performance.

DigitalRapture Posted February 17, 2006 CID Share Posted February 17, 2006 I have a wireless g router, and a wireless b network adapter (both linksys). I'm showing full signal strength and link quality. I also have a 10Mbps connection, though I am only getting 4.5Mbps through my network adapter. Is there any other ways to speed this up, or is this normal for a wireless b network adapter? BTW, I have already sped up my connection considerably through the cablenut prog. Thanks in advance. edit: I just installed a wireless g network adapter today, and saw my bandwidth increase from 4.5 to almost 6mbps. Still far away from the 10 I could have...
