AoL Question, i know its a joke but got a question

alright my friend has aol, and he dosent like the software ,anyway he can use his connection to allow him to still get on the internet.thanks in advance

there are guides out there but those are for dsl he has cable, and my friend is wireless.

to connect to the internet, you pretty much HAVE to use the AOL program.  but once you're connected, you can just minimize AOL and use FireFox or Internet Explorer. (well...u could do this back in the days of aol 6.0, i dunno if they've changed it since).

I am pretty sure that AOL has a dialer program outside of the main suite - if you can find that dialer program and just use that to connect to the net you can save urself all the little problems AOL gives u

Yeah it is possible to connective via DSL with out using the software suite.. If it was really important to him I would have him setup ICS and have a dedicated computer just remain on the net 24/7.. then get a switch or wireless router and use that do distribute the connection.. i have never tried to do this.. so I can not guarantee that it is going to work.
