harleyrider25670 Posted December 29, 2004 CID Share Posted December 29, 2004 Just Curious... I have a realtek rtl8139 & a Via PCI 10/100 onboard network adapter on my system. Which would work faster the onboard or the one in a pci slot? Thanks
Marcin541 Posted December 29, 2004 CID Share Posted December 29, 2004 I have a Realtek $10 adapter, a "Rhine" adapter, and a Broadcom 440x onboard adapter, out of all of them i prefer the onboard, so I think that would be the best lol
MICROWAVE Posted December 29, 2004 CID Share Posted December 29, 2004 harleyrider25670, Welcome to the site hope you enjoy and tell your friends about us. I also use the Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller and really like it and it seems to work great for me, I have used other devices in the past but this works best. VanBuren Posted December 29, 2004 CID Share Posted December 29, 2004 Just Curious... I have a realtek rtl8139 & a Via PCI 10/100 onboard network adapter on my system. Which would work faster the onboard or the one in a pci slot? Thanks I would test both of them, compare what adapter thats faster, this is not a matter of onboard or PCI, its a matter of how good the drivers work with the adapter. Make sure to use the latest drivers, grab em here www.realtek.com.tw I have Realtek 8169 10/100/1000 Mbps PCI adapter and it works great, i also have a 10/100 Mbps Realtek 8139 PCI adapter that also works great.
