There are substantial security fixes that only SP2 will give you and running with anything less is just screaming for trouble.
tommie gorman Posted March 23, 2006 CID Share Posted March 23, 2006 What is your advertised speed? Is that not the T-1? Are you on the 128 pkg., if so you are doing great. Enjoy all the convenience of cable Internet. Up to twice the speed of dial-up. (128 Kbps download and 64 Kbps upload Also test with a bigger file, say 1496. Welcome to the forum GoldenDrago. tommie gorman Posted March 25, 2006 CID Share Posted March 25, 2006 2 things: you have to read and try the post info. Van Buren gave you a cable-nut file to use. Second I gave you a recomendation try a larger file test. And third did you clean out your cookies and files before testing. And fourth you have to let the cable-nut set for a couple of days to fully let it set in. Don't be so impatient. It is only frustrating only if you let it be that way. OK so I cannot count. Also when was the last time you defragged your computer files.

tommie gorman Posted March 25, 2006 CID Share Posted March 25, 2006 OK GoldenDrago, it is not all that hard to do, and if you do regularly, it does not take that long. It only takes a long time, because you wait so long to do it. Mine only takes me about 1 minute, because I do it regularly, about twice a week. If you do not remember how to do it: click start>all programs>accessories>system tools>disk defragmenter>defragment>and let it run. While it is running, walk away and go get something to drink restroom break, or something to eat or drink. When you get back it should be done. Then run disk cleanup. Did forgot to clean out files including offline content, before testing? All this should help some. Cool.

FallowEarth Posted March 25, 2006 CID Share Posted March 25, 2006 After you apply the tweak, make sure to disable any software that could be interfering with your test results. This includes firewalls, real-time antivirus protection, popup blockers, browser extensions/toolbars, etc. Also, be sure that you are malware-free: www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan
