tommie gorman Posted April 14, 2006 Author CID Share Posted April 14, 2006 Thanks for the help. But it was too simple. http://forums.techguy.org/security/308403-solved-java-byte-verify-virus.html do you have Sun's java , or Microsoft's javaVM? If you have sun's go to control panel, click on java, click cache and clear. If you have Microsoft's unistall it and download Sun's java. http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/howto-21.html http://java.com/en/download/help/cache_virus.jsp this is the download page for Sun's Java http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp khaz This seems to have satisified AVG, as it no longer detects it. Google may not be god, but it never hurts. I also downloaded the updates while I was in there.

tommie gorman Posted April 14, 2006 Author CID Share Posted April 14, 2006 Well sometimes instead of just waiting for help.. It is best to keep looking while you wait, and quicker. Also I had thrown my entire arsenal of cleanup goodies at it, and it was just laughing at me. That was when I figured it was going to be a booger. AVGs, Windows Defender, Spybot, vcleaner, Yahoo anti- spy,to no avail. Really did not want to reformat!
