mudmanc4 Posted April 19, 2006 CID Share Posted April 19, 2006 Ive had Vonage for 8 or so months, Its all good, allmost. The router leases a one week ip to the phone router , once the week is up , it doesn't renew, OK , so I try to renew, not gonna happen . called several times , they reset the phone router, and its OK. Sh*t, I dont have 20-30 min a week to go through this . I was thinking of giving phone router a static ip, will this work? and how should I go about it?. Or maybe what am I doing wrong?Anyone? Swimmer Posted April 19, 2006 CID Share Posted April 19, 2006 What type of router do you have? Setting a static ip should solve the problem.. As long as it is related to the internal ip and not the external one.

mudmanc4 Posted April 19, 2006 Author CID Share Posted April 19, 2006 Thats cool , no problem. Did that , also in phone router, set up for static, Set, default gate way ( maybe wrong) took from router. Set subnet mask (should be ok, but not talking to router. I gotta fly myself , Thanks and I'll check back later

Guest thecableguy Posted April 20, 2006 CID Share Posted April 20, 2006 Ive also having problem with a vonage box. Im trying to get my tivo to dial up and it wont? Rumor has it that TIVO hates VOIP connections. Appears their internal modem sucks really badly....now this is I can say is fact but experience at my place of work has been they just don't work with any VOIP services or at least not very well.....
