tommie gorman Posted April 25, 2006 CID Share Posted April 25, 2006 I personally just shut off the tower on screen.
resopalrabotnick Posted April 25, 2006 CID Share Posted April 25, 2006 if the light changes form a green to orange it means that the lcd is going into a standby mode. the screen itself is off, just some of the electronics are awake and waiting for something to display. if you want to save power you can switch it off because it does draw a little current when in standby. if it is just a soft switch then it will still draw some power even when 'off' since the switch electronics are waiting for you to turn em back on. (hp printers are famous for their 'off' power draws.)
