Guest echo Posted May 3, 2006 CID Share Posted May 3, 2006 I think I should, however I'm new to tweaking my internet connection. I've used testmy.net a hundred times before to "show off" my connection to my buddies with DSL I have Comcast 6Mbps/384kbps package in Jacksonville, FL. The highest I've seen for download is 6.42. but it is normally 6.26-6.27 and my upload is basically the same. I have tried tweak after tweak after tweak, but I get the same thing over and over. It never gets any higher. So i've come to the conclusion that tweaking is only for people who aren't getting their advertised speeds. Correct? Anyways, here are my results.....let me know what you think. I am thinking about upgrading to their 8Mbps/768Kbps connection for just $55.95 a month instead of the $45.95 i'm paying now. I don't know yet. :::.. tommie gorman Posted May 3, 2006 CID Share Posted May 3, 2006 It looks great to me. But anything except dial-up looks great. At least it is over advertised speeds. And yes, some do go over advertised speeds, and some don't. on my satelite connection I get about 1030 kbps on an advertised 700 kbps. And if I remember correctly, DSL usually does not improve much over advertised speeds. Like I said, it looks great.
RAINMAKA Posted May 5, 2006 CID Share Posted May 5, 2006 for an extra $10 a month i would upgrade, if you dont get close to the advertised speeds then i would go back to what you have right now. thats what i would do.
