even if all the pcs were turned off u would only see a tiny bit of that T-3

that make it in such a way that one user can't hog the all bandwidth

its a shame :)

they did the same thing when i was in school, depending on the number of computers that were turned on, determended how fast the internet was to your computer.

Not too shabby for a lab with 30 PCs.  Upload is usually higher, but I won't complain.  :D

Well AMC    , I know my ways  to bypass internet filtration systems  if yours is BESS internet filtration system

you will not be able to bypass the filtration system in his school, or any Florida public school. There stuff is setup so well that anonymous browsers will not work, and even remote desktop browsing wont work. thats how well there hardware is setup.

Here are my school's speeds, I'm really not supposed to be doing this stuff on the computer, but they'll never find out.  There obviously aren't many people on the network, or the speed would be much worse.

Guest PeePs

I'm home from college (Univ. of Nebraska-Lincoln), but when I was there I tested and got like 800 KB down and like 600 KB up. Couldn't really do anything with the upload though because each dorm room got an allowed 500 MB of upload per a day and once you went over that 500 MB upload in one day you were thrown onto another connection with like 5 mb down and probably like 1.5 mb up until the next day. So basically if you went over the limit you were in for some slow *** speeds!

In the school newspaper there was an article about how the school is sappose to upgrade their internet from 155 mbps to 300 mbps (might be the wrong number). They also mentioned something about how the school might use "Internet2" which i guess is a dedicated line just for education that goes to Kansas City. The Internet2 would allow for speeds 100 times greater than the school already has. So maybe if they get a lot more speed they will get rid of that *** *** 500 MB a day upload crap!!!

Dual T-1?  Dual T-1 would be 3 Mbps with nobody else on the network.  Your school has more than a dual T-1.

yeah, that's what I said too.  But the tech guys said we have dual T-1 lines, but max can only get 1.5mbps each.  Maybe they have 4 lines.  But also it's usually much slower, seeing as each person has a computer connected on wireless, playing lan games and what not
