Blunted 2 Posted May 27, 2006 CID Share Posted May 27, 2006 good luck on good speeds in the bronx cause i know people that live there and have optimum and the area is congested but boost might be better. just to save you money boost isnt worth it cause you cant download at those speeds to most wesites and your not gonna get the full 30 and at times you'll be lucky to get 20 so stay with the 15 mb. i already had 3 people get boost and switch back and i told them all the same before they got it and i dont care about the $$$ thats why in the past year i had 4 connections at once just to test the company and how they are and optimum is ok thats it. they are bad at giving the speeds they offer and my dsl is more stable and reliable by 100% but optimum is $45 a month compared to my dsl which is $100 so you get what you pay for. just wait for fios and save your money ;)

JKO Posted June 4, 2006 CID Share Posted June 4, 2006 Wow my download speed suck and my upload is the worst and when I called optimum they said they "Capped" it from the network because it is a shared network. They said something about "Throttle" but wasnt paying attention. So my speed drops when they cap it but it I call 4 more times they will send the case to a security team and then from there they will decide wether or not to terminate my service. Since I am always uploading they said they had to cap it. I live in the Bronx also and I had been capped for about 2 months now and the upload speed is the worst I really dont care about my download I care about my upload, I would try to uncap the modem myself but its a big risk im taking there.
