coldcell Posted July 11, 2006 CID Share Posted July 11, 2006 I dont know where to post this, but I guess that's why I'm posting it here Here's my problem.. in the game World of Warcraft, I lag so much. If there are numours people present, a lag is understanble. However, sometimes when there's no one around, I still lag. It feels "cluncky". It's not a smooth movement and I dont know the cause of this. Here's my spec: Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.00 GHz Memory: 1022 MB RAM Graphic card: GeForce 6800 GS 256 MB :::.. just- Posted July 11, 2006 CID Share Posted July 11, 2006 hi coldcell welcome to the forum seems like you have a pretty OKAY PC and your connection seems fine too well the speed maybe not the Latency latency is what causes lag, and here are a few things u could do to spot latency issues i don't know how WoW works, so i don't know if u could do a tracert to their server but i am sure they have 100's of servers so u wont be able to try doing a tracert to testmy.net click on start > Run > type cmd and press OK a window will open and then type tracert www.testmy.net once that has finished u could also try typing ping -t www.testmy.net let it got for a few seconds and then press CTRL + C to stop it copy the results and paste them here also the issue is not that you don't have enough bandwidth please post ur results here

just- Posted July 11, 2006 CID Share Posted July 11, 2006 hi again coldcell your issue is not bandwidth as in you have enough bandwidth you dont need any more your trace route looks very good actually some of it under 10ms and all of it under 100ms which is really good i really dont know why you have this lag problem does any one have any other ideas? Planatoid Posted July 11, 2006 CID Share Posted July 11, 2006 Have you tried newer drivers for your video card?

coldcell Posted July 11, 2006 Author CID Share Posted July 11, 2006 Yes I have the latest graphic card driver installed. I hardly play online games other than World of Warcraft, so I have no idea how my PC perform in other games. Though it works fine in single player games.. May be it's just WoW is demanding :S I thank you for your help though!
dlewis23 Posted July 11, 2006 CID Share Posted July 11, 2006 coldcell this doesnt seem like a internet problem at all, if you have the newet drivers for your graphics card and that didnt make a difference then lower the graphics setting for the game and see if it still does it.
