Guest philp Posted August 6, 2006 CID Share Posted August 6, 2006 Need some help. A friend of mine just upgraded to XP from the original Me his comp came with. Now he can't get connected to Roadrunner. His wireless laptop is working so we know the signal is coming in. Figure it's a computer setting but he needs to know what to do. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Guest philp Posted August 6, 2006 CID Share Posted August 6, 2006 I don't know, guys. All I know is he had a connection before he inserted the XP upgrade disc into the comp. I'll try to get more info.
FallowEarth Posted August 6, 2006 CID Share Posted August 6, 2006 Maybe this will help: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-13965 Any questions or clarification, please ask. Some preliminary questions: Is the PC directly connected to the modem? (ethernet or usb?) Are you getting an IP address? What IP?
Guest philp Posted August 8, 2006 CID Share Posted August 8, 2006 PC is connected directly to the modem. Not sure about the IP address, but I gave him the list of checks in your link and we'll see what happens. Thanks for the info, Fallow Earth! dlewis23 Posted August 8, 2006 CID Share Posted August 8, 2006 If he is directly conecting it to the computer through USB then he just has to install the drivers for the modem again.
