php Posted August 20, 2006 CID Share Posted August 20, 2006 the test id doesn't mean it's not cached...
fastbreaker Posted August 20, 2006 Author CID Share Posted August 20, 2006 usually if it is cached... its an outrageous speed like over 4000 kBps
tommie gorman Posted August 20, 2006 CID Share Posted August 20, 2006 Damn I hate that part! DSL doesn't burst does it? I doubt they have a boost. I hope you have turned off your accelerators and cleaned out your temp files. Or maybe you are on the 3.0 instead of the 1.5?
fastbreaker Posted August 20, 2006 Author CID Share Posted August 20, 2006 I guess it was just a boost... i cleaned it right b/f. Tested a second it went down to
tommie gorman Posted August 20, 2006 CID Share Posted August 20, 2006 As stated several times before in this forum, if in doubt, test twice and post the second one. Usually works.
gotmilk Posted August 20, 2006 CID Share Posted August 20, 2006 I don't know how, but I've had tests that were 'partially cached' before, like right when I started the test it would already be at like 10% finished. I didn't even have to use the back or refresh button, it just automatically happened with IE 7. If you're using IE 7 try testing with IE 6 or FF. It is possible, though, that they over capped you or bumped you up to the 3/384 package whether by accident or on purpose.
tommie gorman Posted August 20, 2006 CID Share Posted August 20, 2006 Actually on my tests, I have never had one start at 0. But the test has started already I think, because it is moving when I get there. Maybe it is the burst of satelite. Or maybe I just do not get to see the starting gate. Others post on something I have just posted on,sometimes before I even get to the screen. So probably the same thing.
gotmilk Posted August 20, 2006 CID Share Posted August 20, 2006 Yeah, I know what you're talking about, but with IE 7 it will start even further through the test than it normally does, and it'll give me results that I know are at least partially fake, like 3.5 Mbps. I know my line isn't capable of that.
