php Posted August 21, 2006 CID Share Posted August 21, 2006 Does anyone know of a driver that will let me control Winamp with the remote? I can control WMP and iTunes but not Winamp... and I use Winamp the most. The media buttons on my keyboard can control all 3, so I know it's possible (with the right drivers anyway ) v1 remote btw... Nos7667 Posted August 21, 2006 CID Share Posted August 21, 2006 The only thing i know you could do is check around for plug ins. And does winamp allow hotkeys? if so you could set up your remote to do hotkeys to control it i guess.

php Posted August 23, 2006 Author CID Share Posted August 23, 2006 Ok, I've got this semi-working right now. However, I have to use a different remote. The MCE remote signals are processed at the driver level I believe, and the only 3rd party driver I could find is for the v2 remote. Also, the receiver seems to only process signals from particular remotes.
php Posted August 23, 2006 Author CID Share Posted August 23, 2006 Update... from my limited experimenting, it responds to Sony remotes. Which includes universal remotes programmed to a Sony device code.
