coknuck Posted August 28, 2006 CID Share Posted August 28, 2006 I would say no. You need the service.

coknuck Posted August 28, 2006 CID Share Posted August 28, 2006 Again no. You would need a router to hook up another computer.

You could use 2 modems.. But it would require another cable line being run into you house.. which you would have to pay for.. and then on top of the install fee.. you would have to purchace another service plan. Then on top of that if you wanted to use both modems.. you are looking at a router that is going to cost up to $200 for the exact same speed. You wouldnt "double" you bandwidth.. If you wanted to do that you are looking in the $1000's for a router.. Long story short... yes it is possible.. but it isnt realistic or practical.. saygoodie Posted August 28, 2006 Author CID Share Posted August 28, 2006 it's not like it really matters... i just wanted to see if i could do it... but i guess not. i use a crossover cable to connect my xbox to my pc while i use my cable modem through usb. a router would be better though. Swimmer Posted August 28, 2006 CID Share Posted August 28, 2006 I didnt think you could do that on the Motorola modems.. I thought it was one or the other.. Router would be the way to go..
