Voodoo_X Posted October 30, 2006 CID Share Posted October 30, 2006 I'm another desperate user from portugal that has a miserable internet speed! I have a cable ISP (TVTEL) and a Elsa microlink cable modem linked to a Asus WL-500g Wireless router. This computer is connected to the router by wireless (asus WL-138g adaptor) My connection is 3000/128 and i've tried every cablenut tweaks and TCP optimizer! Please help me... 1. I have Windows XP SP2 with p2p fix 2. TvTel (www.tvtel.pt) 3000/128 3. I've tried lots of tweaks, every cablenut ccs files, one that i made from j79zlr site, DisableDNSCaching.reg, DisableNetSchedule.reg, FasterPageLoading.reg, IncreaseBuffer.reg, RemoveScriptDebugger.reg, UnloadDLLs.reg and TCPOptimizer. Here is the result of analyzer: TCP properties for IP = XX.XXX.XX.XXX () Browser/OS = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pt-BR; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7 Notes: Read the Analyzer FAQ if the above is not your IP address. Sparticus Posted October 30, 2006 CID Share Posted October 30, 2006 Have you tried calling your ISP to see if its something with them?
Voodoo_X Posted October 30, 2006 Author CID Share Posted October 30, 2006 Yes i have called them... but i assume the problem is mine because i have two more computers at home and they have more up and down speed results!
tommie gorman Posted October 31, 2006 CID Share Posted October 31, 2006 OK Voodoo_X this might be it. You are on the 3.0 cable. And you are in Portugal. Over seas. That pretty much confirms it. You will not get the same speeds half way around the world. So you probably are where you should be. You might try reading this though. Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 It sounds normal though. You might try a mirror that is closer to you. Here are some that are closer at the bottom of the page. "World Servers (Canadian, European & Asian Servers)" http://www.testmy.net/tools/mirrors.php Hope those help. Also welcome to the forum. dlewis23 Posted October 31, 2006 CID Share Posted October 31, 2006 Yes i have called them... but i assume the problem is mine because i have two more computers at home and they have more up and down speed results! you just need to find the right tweak settings for that computer to get it as fast. also have you run any spyware scans. Voodoo_X Posted October 31, 2006 Author CID Share Posted October 31, 2006 Hi, i have scanned my computer with adaware, spybot, ccleaner, AVG free edition! i just dont know what are the best settings for more performance... can you help in that? thank u all
tommie gorman Posted October 31, 2006 CID Share Posted October 31, 2006 I just noticed you also are behind a wireless router. That will slow speeds down also. On the settings I use the TCP Optimizer only. So I would know less than you which is the right cablenut settings.
