coknuck Posted November 7, 2006 CID Share Posted November 7, 2006 Tim, My Son and I were talking about that last night. He lives in Salt Lake City and has Comcast with the boost. Some pages load faster but as a whole we don't really see much difference. Now the difference comes when downloading and definitely uploading with the better package. Still get the same slow downs as before, just not as slow.

coknuck Posted November 16, 2006 CID Share Posted November 16, 2006 I always used Cablenut. Thought I would try TCP Optimizer and I started getting speeds like you. The test ran a lot smoother I admit but I lost speed so I went back to Cablenut and my speeds returned. Where are you located? I'm in Northern Kentucky. Edit: Are you still using a router? The test ran a lot smoother I admit but I lost speed so I went back to Cablenut and my speeds returned. Where are you located? I'm in Northern Kentucky.Edit: Are you still using a router? I am in Illinois, and am using a Netgear wireless router. I have been using TCP optimizer from the get go. I tried cablenut, but didn't have much luck. Weird thing is, when I moved the slider on TCP to 10000, my speeds went down. I put slider back to 4500 (original insight speeds), and I am getting near the 10/1 speeds. Increased upload speeds made a huge difference in my remote slingbox viewing, as well as my webcam teleconferencing. Wow, insight finally did something right. coknuck Posted November 16, 2006 CID Share Posted November 16, 2006 I know what you mean about using the larger settings. I'm still using the cablenut setting from the 4000/384. That upload is great. Good speeds for using a router!
