tommie gorman Posted November 16, 2006 CID Share Posted November 16, 2006 Welcome to the forum sparkaz69 First post a speed test. Try clicking on here. Also remove your temp files before clicking and testing. Top of Browser* Tools*Internet Options*Delete Files including Offline Content*ok*ok*click and test. http://www.testmy.net/dl-2992 And copy and paste back here, so we know what is going on with your progress. First hit Tab at top with file. Hit back up current settings. Save that somewhere. Mine is in my music. Set the dial to 2000. Click on Optimal radial button at the bottom. On the largest MTU tab click start and let run. On the latency TAB hit start and let it run 3 times to get a good average. Then back to General Settings tab and Apply Changes and allow to reboot. That should be it. If not what you desired, you can change the dial around a little each way, til it is what you want. And always reboot to put in the settings. You might want to add a sig line, so its easy for others to see what system you have, what bird your using etc... profile>modify profile/modify profile info try your upload with the 579 file
tommie gorman Posted November 17, 2006 CID Share Posted November 17, 2006 So was that before or after teh TCP Optimizer sparkaz69. If before, I would not mess with it, you are already on target. If after, did you get any increase??

tommie gorman Posted November 18, 2006 CID Share Posted November 18, 2006 Can't hurt, I would have. Just to see if there were any improvement. I need speed. And unforntunately I have all I will ever see on Dway now. And yes the TCP Optimizer is what I use. Worked well.

Your 150 kb/s was a "burst" that you only see for a short period of time while downloading. After a few seconds (or more) your speed will drop to around 130 kb/s depending on the time of day. Tweaking isn't going to help anymore.
