ratchet Posted November 28, 2006 CID Share Posted November 28, 2006 So as a compromise to shutting down or not, on days my wife works, I shut down before I leave for work, or if she is going to be home, I'll leave it off all night and turn it back on in the morning. The main reason I do shut down is so it isn't sucking in dust all day/night. So if that is my only concern, should I just use Stand by or Hibernate instead of turning it off? Thank You! biker9075 Posted November 28, 2006 CID Share Posted November 28, 2006 Most of the time I will either leave it on or put it in standby, its rare when I do a full shutdown or hibernation.

Yeah but I'm impatient...I just lock it down because other people in the house like to mess with things and thats how you end up with SPYWARE...I hate spyware and managing 7 computers on a network....
