tommie gorman Posted January 9, 2007 CID Share Posted January 9, 2007 First of all welcome to the forum death2death can someone please explain how to do Part 5 from: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-2097 Second of all. "5. Under your LAN connection - properties - general tab, uninstall all the protocols there that you do not need. You most likely only need "Client for Microsoft Networks" and "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)." If you share files on your home network, you also need "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks." It was done in XP. If you have that go to control panel*Classic View*Network and Internet Connections*Network Connections*right click etc... As far as "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks." that is in the control panel also. Hope that helped.

tommie gorman Posted January 9, 2007 CID Share Posted January 9, 2007 I was going to mention that, but I figured he got that with "12. Scan for viruses with your antivirus app, if you do not have one get one, AVG, Avast!, and Ewido are great." of his link. So I might as well also mention... "Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer " http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 "tweak guide" For putting in the TCP Optimizer. http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-1013
