razors_edge_ Posted January 9, 2007 CID Share Posted January 9, 2007 Hi all, I am using bell sympatico dsl ultra high speed with specs of 3008/800 kbps respectively. I have P4 2.4ghz, 1.25gb sd ram,120gb @ 7200 rpm hdd and OS is win xp2. All drivers are updated. Avg antivirus and anti spyware, Registry mechanic, spybot installed. Nitro report as follows: WEB100 Enabled Statistics: Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done checking for firewalls . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done running 10s outbound test (client-to-server [C2S]) . . . . . 664.0kb/s running 10s inbound test (server-to-client [s2C]) . . . . . . 2.42Mb/s ------ Client System Details ------ OS data: Name = Windows XP, Architecture = x86, Version = 5.1 Java data: Vendor = Sun Microsystems Inc., Version = 1.5.0_09 ------ Web100 Detailed Analysis ------ Cable modem/DSL/T1 link found. Link set to Full Duplex mode Information: throughput is limited by other network traffic. Good network cable(s) found Normal duplex operation found. Web100 reports the Round trip time = 546.91 msec; the Packet size = 1452 Bytes; and There were 99 packets retransmitted, 187 duplicate acks received, and 239 SACK blocks received The connection was idle 0 seconds (0%) of the time C2S throughput test: Packet queuing detected: 13.40% S2C throughput test: Packet queuing detected: 6.60% This connection is network limited 99.83% of the time. Follows another speed test result: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Download Connection is:: 2874 Kbps about 2.9 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 351 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Server 1) Test Time:: 2007/01/09 - 4:41am Bottom Line:: 50X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 2.92 sec Tested from a 12160 kB file and took 34.656 seconds to complete Download Diagnosis:: Looks Great : 3.27 % faster than the average for host (bell.ca) D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-5ODLP903E User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 [!] The question: is "Packet queuing detected" a bad news? If so what could possibly be the remedy. Another thing is i wanted to know that when i download an average size file from bell's server i can't exceed more than 313-315KB/s max whereas i have tweaked the tcp/ip, afd and netbt registries accordingly. Plus test taken from speakeasy.net also never exceeds more than 2525-2550 kbps which confirms the download speed with bell's server. Is this the best am i gonna achieve? I am not an expert in any way or fashion but just want to make the most of my connection and any suggestion/s or guideline/s would mean alot to me. Best regards, razors_edge_
