ppills Posted January 13, 2007 CID Share Posted January 13, 2007 Is there any way to get a lower ping. I'm on 6mb/400kbps cable which I might add works great and speeds are also great. But, when I play games online my ping is always in the 125-150 range, and hardly ever gets below 100, and almost never lower than 90. I searched this board a bit before making this topic. But, is there maybe a tool/guide somewhere here I can use to help me maybe tweak my connection to get better pings.

dlewis23 Posted January 13, 2007 CID Share Posted January 13, 2007 to get better pings in a game join a server that is closer to you, otherwise there is no way to get better pings besides chaining ISP's

FGOKURULES Posted January 13, 2007 CID Share Posted January 13, 2007 Dude it looks like you just have a high latency on your network, there is nothing YOU can do about this,, As long as your speed isn't affected I wouldn''t worry about it. plus anything under 100ms in gaming is cool. not great but it can still function
Swimmer Posted January 15, 2007 CID Share Posted January 15, 2007 The tracerts look pretty clean there is on router, 208.172.139.130, that looks like it might be a little slow.. Anything below 150ms is pretty good for gaming.. Improving it is something that you really cant control as it looks like an issue of a router not your computer. You can take a look at the Killer NIC. I doubt it would help in your situation.
