tommie gorman Posted February 9, 2007 CID Share Posted February 9, 2007 Try reading this first Anchorman. It fixes 90% of problems. And should be done before tweaking. http://www.testmy.net/t-4257

coknuck Posted February 9, 2007 CID Share Posted February 9, 2007 Anchorman, After you do what Tommie said, download and install Cablenut 4.08 from http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1013.msg27520#new Then use the file I have attached at the bottom. Be sure to reboot after applying the numbers so they set in the registry.
tommie gorman Posted February 9, 2007 CID Share Posted February 9, 2007 The reason I said that Anchorman is because of those extrodinarily slow speeds. Usually beyong what can be fixed with tweaking. And if it is not truly clean tweaking sometimes will make it worse a bit. You are only running at 10% speed. So try those first. Brand new, does that mean tested directly out of the box, or was it ran for a week or 2 first?? Somethings just work better if done in order. Good luck. Also if it is directly out of the box, did you delete the AntiVirus and Messenger services? And yes if I reformat, I still have to defrag and disk clean up for all the crap I delete right after redoing it. Mine was store bought.
