ajb62787 Posted March 4, 2007 CID Share Posted March 4, 2007 I have 512MB OCZ S.O.E PC2-6400 (DDR2-800) memory with timings of 5-5-5-15. I am planning on buying a 1GB stick of the same type but the timings are 4-4-3-15 and also 5-5-5-12. Will my memory work with 2 different timings or does it have to have equal # of timing in order for it to work?
mudmanc4 Posted March 4, 2007 CID Share Posted March 4, 2007 Does the manufacturer suggest these timings? Because whatever they are, you will set them in your bios (if capable on MB) .
Guest kamil234 Posted March 4, 2007 CID Share Posted March 4, 2007 you can set any timings on any memory by increasing and decreasing it and also dropping or increasing the voltage. its better to buy ram thats the same speed and same timings as the one you allready have if you're upgrading.
