Blunted 2 Posted May 24, 2007 CID Share Posted May 24, 2007 thats because you have the power boost which only lasts a few MB and then it goes down to normal but its a good boost to get your files a little faster. enjoy
ecliptic Posted May 24, 2007 CID Share Posted May 24, 2007 probly right blunted, but i had a download burst from zero to 40MB in about 4 seconds, not a bad burst, then the dl speed droped to about 1500~kbps and stayed about that, still, quite nice
Blunted 2 Posted May 24, 2007 CID Share Posted May 24, 2007 its still a fast speed without the boost and more than most people so enjoy it.
Guest PeePs Posted May 24, 2007 CID Share Posted May 24, 2007 i dunno about you, but im starting to get mad at Cox lately. During peak hours (at least i think its peak hours) around 5pm - 8 pm while i play online games (counter-strike) i will get lag spikes all the time.... ping goes from around 40 ms, to over 100. Its very breif, but it definately affects my play and its very aggravating. Is it possible that these "powerboosts" are the reason for this varying ping? The lag spikes i experience never really last longer than 2 seconds and they occur prolly 5 times a minute.... Anyways, I hope Cox gets this **** under control. mogramjo Posted June 8, 2007 CID Share Posted June 8, 2007 I'm very happy with the Speeds I'm getting *now* from Cox 12/1. My Signature below reflects the Large File test of 48,638kB at: http://www.testmy.net/dl-48638 Taken just now...and since it's almost 10pm so, that's pretty good for NOT in the middle of the night with that large a file. Try it!
rushonbye Posted June 9, 2007 CID Share Posted June 9, 2007 Cox is only useful for home but not effective for large network Actually that is not true at all. Cox offers many different tiers of speed that will accommodate just about any network.
Sparticus Posted June 9, 2007 CID Share Posted June 9, 2007 I couldn't be happier. The boost lasted me all the way for a 750 MB file download from microsoft. I was downloading at 2 MB/s
