IIRubenRodII Posted May 28, 2007 CID Share Posted May 28, 2007 Hey guys, so my PC got super full, and it was time for me to save all my progress and format. Problem is, once I re-installed Windows XP again, when it was done and ready...I found that my PC wasn't reading my extra 2 hard drives I bought. How can I make my PC read my other 2 hard drives (E and F) without deleting anything or re-formatting again? Anyone please, help me!
Voltageman Posted May 28, 2007 CID Share Posted May 28, 2007 Are these new hard drives? Go to - Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management and see if those hard drives show up in there. They may need to be set up. dlewis23 Posted May 28, 2007 CID Share Posted May 28, 2007 are they SATA hard drives?
Swimmer Posted May 29, 2007 CID Share Posted May 29, 2007 They should have auto detected.. Also make sure that you installed all of the drivers for your motherboard. If you didn't there is a good chance that any SATA drives, like dlewis pointed out, will not show up until the drivers are installed. I had them before, and everytime I logged into Windows, I clicked on "My Computer" and you could see "Drive C;D;E" and I think I had an F too. I think they are SATA drives, and when I click on my device manager, it shows that they're in there, but I can't see them when I click on "My Computer" so now I'm running out of disk space and I need to use the other drives to fit more files. They are showing there, and it has a green bar on top of both of the drives that aren't being used. Disk 0, Disk 1, and Disk 2. It says they are online, but how can I get them to be set up?
